So today I bored with job hunting and wedding organizing and after getting inspiration from you bees… I DIY’ed some potential wedding shoes!!!! So I went out to Michaels, Marshalls, and some other random discount shoe store and found these lovelies
Sorry for the gigantic pic… but anyways I didn’t like the ruffle so I snipped it off with some scissors. You can see the before and after, left vs right.
Then I mixed up some mod podge and glitter… and applied a coat to my shoes. I’m pretty sure I didn’t put enough glitter on so after a second coat, applied some mod podge and sprinkled even more glitter onto them. I also got a little impatient with drying sooo I used my hair dryer to speed up the process. I sealed it up with mod podge clear acrylic sealant spray.
This is the final product!
Now here’s where I need your help bees.. What do I do with the exposed toes??? Do I leave them black or do I put on glitter and pretty much expect the glitter to come off after my toes take it off??

Wow! I’m impressed—they look great. I would just leave the toes black. I don’t know how easily the glitter would wear off, but if there’s the potential to have a yucky, purple mess all over your toes it’s going to look bad. I’d leave ’em!

I would leave the black alone. If they look THAT closely to your shoes especially your toes they have issues hahahaha
But also.. if the glitter comes off easy (sweat, dancing, constant movement) imagine the glitter all over your toes and I’m thinking it would feel rough too so may irrate your skin

@PoeticDoveInLA: @jules28: Those were my thoughts exactly. I just wanted to make sure the black doesn’t look too wierd…

The black doesn’t look weird! I’d just leave them as is 🙂 Great job!

How much glitter do you need to buy to cover a pair of heels?

@jlpalumbo: I didn’t use nearly as much as I thought I would. I bought a 5oz container and maybe used a 1/4 of it. I’m glad I have extra though so I can go back right before I get married and sand down some globby spots and put a fresh coat of glitter and sealant on 😀
