I’m very pleased with my DIY ring box and felt the need to brag!
It started with a search on Etsy for ring pillows after asking FI’s cousin-once-removed to be ring bearer. I liked several of the pillows, but I quickly realized that I wanted something a little more “multi purpose” than a pillow. That sent me down the road to ring boxes. However, none of those seemed right either.
Then I saw this while looking up ideas for DIY boxes: http://rive.rs/projects/how-to-hollow-out-a-book
I loved that idea. I selected an old science fiction hard cover book (I’m a scifi dork) that I didn’t really like but was the perfect size for what I wanted to do. I got to work on it using the tutorial (which I modified largely out of convenience and laziness).
I had cobalt paint left over, so I just had to buy a little lace and ribbon, and this was the result:
It’s by no mean perfect, but if was very inexpensive, easy to create, and very “us.” I love it!! Hopefully this can be inspiration to others!
