- Wedding: October 2011
I am a DIY bride all the way and like most DIY brides out there, I could not find anything store bought that was unique enough to be used at my wedding. This of course included my invitations and save the dates.
First up the save the dates, my fiance really wanted something easy and preferably in a magnet and he set about trying to find a simple template online. Well for myself, this was not going to happen. I did not want to use a template that hundreds of other people had used, I wanted to be different. I came up with a TON of ideas, all of which I will blog about later for those interested, but they were all either too much work to make in mass (especially with all my other projects) or the fiance thought that they were too busy for his taste.
So I went to work, how could I please both of us? Then it hit me when shopping in my favorite craft store, they have printable save the date magnets! They are Gartner’s Printable Save the Date Magnets and come in a pcak of 30 for 9.99… $6.28 when combined with their 40% off coupon.
We had just had an engagement session and our photographer got an awesome picture of us so we used the template and printed out our picture on one side and the words we wanted on the other.
Everything in black and the picture were printed using our inkjet printer. We decided to add a little twist and personalize it some more with stamps from Stampin Up. I used Save the Date from their “Wedding Sweet” stamp set, ordered a personalized date stamp from them as well, and used the leaves from “Day of Gratitude” to create my own border.
Have any other bees used stamps to personalize their wedding stationary?
