I did use Swarovski.  I ordered from Dreamtime Creations, mainly because they had the color that I wanted.  I spent probably a total of 50+ hours on these shoes.  I used 3mm, 5mm, 6mm, 10mm, 12 mm and 20 mm.  I started with the random placement and then placing around, but acutally found it easier to just spread a small amount of E6000 glue on the shoe and then place the stones, randomly picking up sizes to fill in the glue space.  I used very pointed tweezers to place the stones.  Good luck, it was an exhausting project, but well worth it!

Hey! I also didnt want to spend that large amount of money on crystals so I just used rhinestones. I used 3,4 and 5 mm crystals in three different shades of green, plus the extra colors for my peacock feather.

I don’t think the textured leather should be a problem, but you may want to scuff the surface a bit to help the crystals to adhere better.

Having a tool of some sort is so much faster than using tweezers (which I tried at the beginning). My “tool” was a toothpick with a little glob of dried glue on the end and it worked perfectly!

Here are mine

Where do you get your rhinestones from?  Did you get the hotfix kind?

@Miss Feather  Fellow Nova Scotian bride!  Your shoes are beautiful!  It looks like they were nude colour when you started?  I purchased nude shoes and am planning on strassing them, I don’t know if I should paint them first, any advice?  Mine are faux suede from Aldo.

Hi all! I started strassing today, using E6000 medium viscosity because I had it in the house. It’s super thick…like rubber cement. How do you spread this stuff? Or did you all use low viscosity? Thanks!

@MsGosling510  THANK YOU for posting these, I was starting to worry that I’d have to buy the syringes, and I didn’t want to waste the money on them! I’m getting ready to order my strassing stuff from fire mountain.. It’s the one expensive thing I wasn’t willing to give up 🙂 — Money saved ooooh yaah
