Finally finished my DIY swarovski encrusted heels!! I’m so happy with the result (: took me ages but yes! And I know this has been done before and but I’ve always wanted bling shoes for my wedding and it was the next best thing to getting the swarovski encrusted Christian Louboutins that go for $4k – $5k.
Without further adieu, here it is:
What I used:
– Genuine Swarovski AB crystal sizes ss5 to ss16 (2058 newer make flatbacks)
– e3000 glue
– gem picker
Tips I learned as this was my second attempt at doing this:
1: practice and get a feel with how to pick up gems and how the glue moves. It sounds silly but I didn’t do this and I wrecked a pair of $50 shoes and lost a few swarovskis in the process
2: buy a little screw on funnel for the glue. It makes it easier to aim and control where the glue goes as it can be abit runny.
3: glue has strong smell , do this in a well ventilated area
4: start with the inner part of the shoe (where it lines up with your inner leg). Starting at the heel is difficult because of the shape and contour of heel.
5: closely estimate how many you might need. I ordered smaller ones mid way (on my first attempt) because there were so many gaps – but couldn’t get the glue in and it was a mess!!
FYI: I used approx 2000pcs for each shoe and I’m a size EU36, and the shoes are about 14cm high for reference (:
6: be patient, work section by section. It may not look nice at first but when it’s all done, it’s beautiful!!
7: line the edging with the same sized crystal. I used ss10 for around the peeptoe and the outline of the shoe. It’s gives it more of a clean and “professional” look.
8:can do this with any flat back gem! I just used swarovski because of the bedazzleness.
The finished product!!! So happy with the sparkles and reflections looks so cool!! AND BTW the little loop at the heel/ back of my shoe is for an ankle strap/ribbon bow to go through because I have small feet, I don’t want shoes slipping off while I walk down the aisle lol!!
I’d love to see everyone else’s strassed shoes!!!!
