I understand what you want to do, but I think you ALSO need to send a personalized, hand written thank you card later. I hate to say it, but even the local dollarstores have decent cards for very cheap.

Anyways, after that shpiel, I think that you have two options to do the cards. First, you buy cards that say “thank you” on the inside and then stamp the outside with the design and glue on the butterfly, or just design the entire thing yourself and print it out on your computer. Basically you would decide on the size of card (make sure they fit in envelopes), then I’d suggest printing your design onto a nice piece of 8.5 x 11 cardstock, flipping it, printing the inside on the back of the paper, and then cutting it to size.

You shouldn’t do this in lieu of writing and mailing individual notes to thank people for their gifts.

You could stamp them! Just buy some plain white/other light colored cards or cardstock and cut it up, get some stamps and ink pads, and make your own designs. Some stampers get really fancy an use an embosser too – I don’t think they’re very expensive. You just get the embosser (or I think you can maybe use a blow drier, like for your hair) and the embossing powder and special stamp pad. You dab the stamp in the special stamp pad, stamp it on your paper (I think it comes out clear), shake some embossing powder on it, heat it up with the blow drier, and shake off the excess. You’re left with a raised, colored stamp. It looks really cool and way fancier than it actually is πŸ™‚

I was also going to suggest stamps πŸ™‚  Maybe you could find a “Blank Inside” card with a design on the front that you like? If not, then I guess a stamp it is! You could hand write just that sentence on the inside of each one – It could be tedious, but you could get some help with it or something πŸ™‚

I’m fervently looking for a link to a DIY peony that’s inspired by Martha Stewart invite–but it shows you how to do something like you’re describing and the final product is gorgeous! It’s also crazy easy and could be done with a $5 pack of plain thank you notes from Michaels.
