With some of our Christmas gift cards I plan on buying some of the tools I will need for the DIY projects I am planning on. I am not crafty-mainly because I don’t have the time, even though I would love to be 😉
I am planning on making our centerpeices, escort cards, programs, tissue paper pomperanders for the aisle, signage (bar, guestbook, bride & groom, etc.), our card box, and bathroom baskets. The majority of these I’ve already printed out directions, etc- but some things I am not sure what I will need (like the escort cards and signage mainly).
What DIY tool could you have not gone without? 🙂

@eliseemma: scrapbook cutter (it scores too). I’ve done invites, programs, escort cards, guest libs, signs, menus, etc. and I have used it constantly. For the centerpieces, I used a lot of hot glue and double sided tape (tealight terrariums), but if I had to have one thing, it’d be the scrapbook cutter. Best of luck and happy crafting!

Hot glue gun, good scissors, x-acto knife, a good respirator and gloves (I spray painted a lot).
Oh, and coupons.

My advice would be not to purchase anything until you have a firm grasp on what your project needs. If you buy something based on what someone else was DIYing, you may end up with things you don’t need.

Today I bought the corner trimmer (for rounded edges- I know I will need that for my programs because I love round edges!) and I looked around at other things too. I am pretty sure I am going to need a hot glue gun & paper cutter since I am doing a few things that I will need to measure out before cutting.
I found a 50% coupon for Michaels, and I think I am going to get the Martha Stewart craft station with it. I can’t wait to start… I am going to do a practice run tonight of the pomanders.
