My mother in law -to be and my Maid/Matron of Honor and I went Veil shopping this past weekend and i was FLOORED at just how much Veils cost, it was ridiculous to say the least. 150-300 and higher. so my Future Mother-In-Law wrote me an email while i was at work saying, “Do You think we could make it ourselves?, it shouldnt be too hard” i LOVE the idea. Has anyone else made their own veils?

I worked on mine last weekend, still not finished yet, and it’s only a very plain veil, chapel length, no huge flaring or detailing, just a few wee beads for some shimmer

They are easy to make, especially if you don’t want any trim. I made my veil for my first wedding for probably less than $10. I also made a birdcage veil for a friend for around $10. There are much cheaper alternatives to the bridal salon online, though. Etsy and ebay are great sources, not to mention the WB Classifieds!
