I’ve put together a tutorial for brides who are beginners at cardmaking who might be considering making their own invitations. I know a lot of brides are interested in making their own invites, but after seeing some very impressive DIY invitations online, I wondered if that might be putting some craft newbies off of making their own invitations. While some of the DIY invitations I’ve seen are gorgeous, they don’t look easy to make for a beginner and unless they also come with tutorials, someone not familiar with cardmaking probably will not be able to figure out on their own how to copy the design.
I also wanted to make my own invitations and I enjoy cardmaking. Unfortunately, all my old craft supplies are sitting in storage in America and I wasn’t really keen to buy a whole new stock of supplies here in Australia. So I came up with a very simple and easy design that a total beginner could copy without having to strain their budget buying a lot of expensive and fancy supplies that they may never use again. If cardmaking isn’t already a hobby, it’s silly to go out and buy stamps and dies and a heat gun and all that other stuff.
If there are any brides out there who are curious about how to make simple DIY invitations on a budget, I hope this tutorial will be helpful. 🙂 Feel free to copy and share or modify as you see fit.
