- Wedding: June 2013
As a child, I always had a thing for Dorothy’s ruby slippers. What sparkly and magical shoes they were! When I started planning my “look” I knew I wanted sparkly shoes like Dorothy, only pink! I also knew that I wanted a shoe with a pointy toe, and no heel. Well, I did find something similar to my dream shoe, it was however, about $500 over budget.
I was already on the Bee, so I had a peek on the Shoe board. That’s when I learned all about the wonderful world of shoe strassing!
I ordered Swarovski Crystals in Vintage Rose (I can’t remember the sizes), bought some E6000 glue, and some pinky/nude flats from Forever 21.
May episodes of Saved by the Bell and Roseanne later, they were half done!
A few days before the wedding, they were finished! I didn’t have a single crystal left. They were super comfortable, and all of our guests just had to sneak a peek! I love how they are different shades of pink in different lights.
We’ve been to two weddings since ours, and I wore them to both! I think I will retire them for the rest of the year though, so they don’t fall apart!
