Gorgeous!!!   Don’t forget to season your chalkboard before you write on it.  Take the long edge of a stick of chalk and rub it all over the chalkboard, then erace it.  This will make easy to erace anything you write on it, and the first things you write won’t be engrained into the chalkboard finish forever.  It won’t look bright black any longer, but if you don’t season it, you will ruin it the first time you write on it.

@takemyhand:  Ahhhh! Then you won’t make the same mistake again, huh? LOL!  It’s surprising how many people don’t know to season their chalkboards.  I absolutely love the chalkboard you made. I’m kind of jealous of it!!!!

@takemyhand:  Oh well.  It’s still a deal even if she didn’t go down to $10. Garage sales are great if you’re creative and can see something’s possibilities. I’ve brought home some stuff that Darling Husband has looked at me like I have two heads for buying, but then when I get done changing it to my vision, he agrees it was good buy.

That’s awesome! I love repurposing, but I’ve never thought of that! I think I’ll try this, there are so many cool frames at the thrift stores that would look great repainted like this.

Wow I love this! You did an awesome job! I’m looking for similar style mirrors at thrift stores right now.
