Nooo…no experience painting! I did a trial run on some test glasses to get an idea of what design I liked, in what colors, and how much pressure to put on the paint pens…. and then set up my stuff, got out the “real” glasses, took a deep breath and went to town! They turned out pretty good, and I saved a bundle! These are for the getting-ready period of the wedding day when all the girls are over for the beautification.

I did a ton of DIY but not very many that correspond with a specific photo inspiration. Here’s one though lol…I know most people aren’t gonna be fans!

Ooh, I love this thread! I think probably the only DIY item I’ve made for my wedding so far that is based on a single inspiration image (versus a compilation of elements from dozens of other things) is my bridal bouquet.
Here’s my inspiration:
And here is my version with a combination of paper and silk flowers in our wedding colors (blue, silver, and what was supposed to be red only my dye/coloring ended up really pink instead…oh well, I liked the color and have decided to be more liberal with our colors to make up for it):

I’m not usually a big fan of things like that, but I really like what you made. It’s so beautiful!

Thank you! Basically during our engagement shoot, we asked our photographer to take two pics – the foreground and the background pic. I designed the background into a 5×7 folded greeting card (there is stuff on the other side that you can’t see in the pic I posted) and ordered the foreground pic as a 4×6 card. Cut out the figures in the card, glue onto the greeting card!

@eocenia: I did’t make the lace, my Mom bought them at the flea market, so they were basically free 🙂
+: I love your clutch, and every item here is like…what is DIY here? They all look like professional stuffs! 🙂 Great job everyone! 🙂
