A couple of my friends are into scrapbooking and really like the hobby. I have been thinking of getting into it and one of them suggested doing my wedding album. It makes sense because I really haven’t liked any of the books I have seen, they look too commercial….I want something more personal just seems more special.
Is anyone else DIYing their album?

I’m doing my album myself, as well as my parents’ and inlaws’ album. I have found it really fun to do, as it helps you relive all your wedding memories — it’s just a really fun project. And I think my albums turned out really nice — I used Kolo products which you can find at Kolo.com.

I am an avid scrapbooker and did my sister’s wedding album and my best friends. I also did a 30th wedding anniversary album for my parents. My advice is to start early and go slowly. With my sister, I started about a year out and did all the events leading up to the wedding. Then I plan on taking this year to finish their wedding pics and give it to them as a gift. Check out Michaels, Jo Ann Fabrics, Hobby Lobby, Archivers and scrapbook.com for materials, ideas, inspiration. Scrapbooking has evolved by leaps and bounds and the possibilities are endless!

I’m also doing my own wedding album. I love scrapbooking and I’d much rather create my own in the style that I enjoy instead of having to choose from standard layouts and whatnot. Plus, with scrapbooking, I can insert things such as our invitations and other stationery items into the book as well. It’s just a much more fun way of preserving our wedding memories. I haven’t started mine yet but I plan on starting it soon, as well as a fun album of our Disney World honeymoon 😀

My Future Mother-In-Law did her own and I loved looking at it with her. It made me reconsider my original inclinations toward a blurb/shutterfly/mypub type of thing. I still haven’t decided.

Part of our photography package includes a small wedding album, but I am also scrapbooking our pictures because they won’t all fit in the album.
