I found a beautiful canopy online that is serving as my inspiration. It looks as though it could be constructed out of PVC pipe. PVC isn’t exactly wedding chic, so I plan to wrap fabric around it to hide is as it appears it was also done in the inspiration photo. I don’t know if I am DIY savvy enough to pull this off. I REALLY want a canopy, though. I think it would be perfect against Lake Michigan. Any tips or ideas? I am not good at sewing–I can’t even sew buttons on straight, so the fabric part frightens me, but I love it.

I think this will actually be a straightforward project. And I think it will end up looking completely fabulous. It reminds me of a chuppah!

Oh my lord, i’ve been looking for these photos for months! I had forgotten to write down the website and never found them again!!!! Thank you! Do you have source?
There really shouldn’t be a need for a lot of sewing, aside from finishing the edges so they don’t fray. If anything else, a straight seam to connect each color. And if you are draping the fabric over the PVC, you could actually easily hide strips of velcro along the fabric/pipe to keep the draping fabrics in place.
To be honest, even the sewing needn’t be perfect, as I don’t think anyone will get close enough to inspect your work. (I am not a seamstress either!)

nevermind on the source…I’d been searching for everything but the obvious …"canopy"… ha!
