I have a question for brides planning to do their own makeup: are you worried at all that you might be emotional while getting ready and have trouble focusing, resulting in make-up coming out less nice than it does when you are practicing? I know that’s something I personally would be concerned about, but maybe I’m just super-excited about the big day 🙂

Nah, I think I’m just so used to putting makeup on it won’t be a big deal. Plus I’m off work for 4 days before the wedding so I have plenty of time to calm down.

I think I’ll be a little nervous, but I find putting makeup on to be soothing. I think giving yourself double the time is a good emotional buffer: even if you don’t need it, you know you have time to wash it all off and do it over again!

Yea, give yourself extra time will be a good thing. No matter how, you are always very beautiful in ur hubby.

I worry I’ll run out of time and run off to the alter with only mascara and lipgloss (this is a pattern…). Just have a Bridesmaid or Best Man make time for you to do it & double check it.

I ended up DIYing my makeup on the day of the wedding and I was a little worried that I would be nervous and mess it up. I started early, so I knew that if I had issues, I could start over. Luckily, I made it through with no problems and it worked out great! Like Miss Sequoia, I actually liked the quiet “alone time” I had while applying my makeup.
