I am also doing the DIY route for flowers. My mom used to work in a floral shop, so she has some experience in making bouquets, arrangements, etc., and she’s really crafty to boot. 6 Bridesmaid or Best Man, 6 Groomsmen, 30 centerpieces… I’m enlisting the help of six other people- is that enough? My mom is making a direction sheet for everyone to follow, and she’ll do a demo. If they aren’t perfect, I will have to be okay with that.
FoxtheHound- Your flowes are absolutely gorgeous!! I would *LOVE* instructions/how-to’s about the bouts and any other ideas you think might help. PLEASE post it here when you get a chance!
Here are a couple of other sites that have great deals on flowers, especially other things besides roses. (We are using spider mums, Bells of Ireland, etc.)
Hope these sites help!!

Thanks everyone! I’ll post here when I get everything back up and running on my bio.
One thing about Bells of Ireland. I love the way they look and I used a couple ringlets of them around the base of a few of our corsages and bouts. They were smashed as soon as people went through the receiving line. So I would only recommend using them in actual centerpieces.
Here’s a picture of how they looked in the morning. Note: I made the corsage and the one bout the florist made was DH’s because I didn’t want to worry about finding one light blue flower. I like the way mine turned out better but I may be biased. ; )

FoxtheHound – fantastic job! How did you figure how to do the corsages and the bouts? Also is there a special trick to wrapping the flowers? i.e. did you use floral tap to secure the flowers before wrapping it in ribbon?
To anyone who’s used fiftyflowers.com how was it? Were the flowers good quality? Customer service good? I am seriously considering ordering some, specifically the orchids and hydrangeas. If anyones ordered those I’d love to hear about it!

My grandma was actually a florist so I used to make corsages out of fake flowers when I was kid. However, I still had to do a trial run since I’ve never worked with mini callas before. There are a lot of instructions for making bouts and corsages online just google some. They aren’t that hard to make. You can get all of the supplies at your local craft store. I actually didn’t use any ribbon. The green on the bottom of the corsages and bouts is floral tape. Floral tape gets sticky when you stretch it so just put it tight and it will stick to itself.

So this is a very old thread, but I didn’t feel like making a new one. Lots of good advice on this thread and I just wanted to add something new.
This site has the extra trimmings to help with your DIY flowers:
