I tried working my wedding look the other day, as I’m doing my own make up. A few things I struggle with are shadow on hooded eyes (not sure how to shape it?) and covering dark circles, although they look okay in the photo.
Here is me without makeup, although there is a filter on this:
And here’s my try at makeup (minus false lashes):

I think it looks great! You’re very pretty without makeup and have great skin, so I think the makeup compliments your looks without being over done. Very pretty!

I love it! You look great without make-up and the make-up in your picture is just enhancing your natural beauty.

You did a great job with your skin! You look beautiful, while still liking like yourself. I would suggest you smudge your liner on your eye lid with a dark brown shadow, it looks a little too sharp and thin.

I think it looks great and I am impressed that you did it yourself!

Your eyes are such a pretty blue!
Do do you normally wear much make-up? I used to wear only a little light make up, and I while I was pro at looking like I didn’t have on make up, I got into a stage of wearing heavier(but still professional) eye makeup most days around 7-8 months ago. I went from looking like I had muddy eye shadow, and now I can blend and do smokey eyes and killer liner.
I’m going to do my own makeup and I’ve decided on the prettiest blush, benefit cosmetic’s dandelion. You have such pretty skin, I think a light rosier (vs brown) blush would compliment it.
Also, do you have oily skin or dry skin? I feel like it looks really matte, which might be best if you have very oily skin, but maybe to if you have drier skin.

You look great! The makeup really warms up your skin tone. The only thing I’d recommend is make your brows a little more defined.

Thank you all! You’re very sweet 🙂
thegrandsophy, I will definitely try smudging it. I normally wear it like that when I wear normal makeup, so I wasn’t sure how to make it more “bridal.” It’s funny because I tried doing the whole winged-eye look, and with my hooded eyes, all you could see was dark black!
mzhoney, I do not normally wear a lot of makeup. Usually just liner and mascara if I feel like it. But most days I wear nothing. I have been trying out my bridal look once a week though, just to be sure that I’m not a newbie when doing it on the big day. That blush looks amazing! But holy cow, I don’t think I could spend that much on a blush. Off to the internet to find a dupe! 😉
I have quite dry skin, but was aiming for matte for pictures. Should I add some highlighter or something?

looks really lovely bee! You are so beautiful anyway 🙂
A few minor suggestions (I am into makeup but by no means professional): 1) further define your brows (MAC or anastasia brow wiz are favourites of mine) 2) add a highlighter as I really feel this will lift your gorgeous skin further (Becca or Charlotte tilbury are my favourites) 3) add a little gloss to your lips (I think the colour is great) 4) smudge out your eyeliner, this is a personal preference though.
I have hooded eyes too, I feel your pain with the smokey eye but keep practising and it will come!

You’re so pretty:-) you did a great job, but as a professional I have a few tips. Though honestly, I loved your no make up look- so you’re going to be beautiful no matter what. Please don’t worry about it. These are just tweaks:
Eyes: lay a layer of shadow on then the liner over it, then shadow again for top lid. Lower lid should be cleaner, take a Q tip after you apply it and run it under the eye.
shadow: for hooded eyes, do highlighter all the way under the brow, not just on 3/4. See Jennifer Lawrence’s make up for example.
Cheeks: your blush is too high and too brown. You want contour in the browner family, below cheekbone. On cheekbone, a pink, rosy blush. A little bit above for a glowing bridal look, onto apples, but NOT close to under eye area. Under eye area must be kept clean with a lighter concealer to make eyes pop. Highlighter can go on top bone of cheekbone. Blend blend blend.
Lips: a rosier nude, a pink nude would be beautiful on you. I like Mac angel with a tiny bit of gloss over it, nars gloss in a peach is what I often use on brunettes. If you’re going to be tan, a peachier color would be good.

Thank you both!!!! I will keep practicing, and apply everything you’ve suggested. Thank you all for your help!

If you have a Sephora nearby they give samples of anything, if you ask. 🙂 They also may be able to hook you up with a sample of a Sephora brand blush (less $) thats similar to sample too.
Balletparker gave some great advice about using highlighter.
By the way great job with the shadow, took me months of wearing makeup to look near as good. 🙂

I tried it again, this time using peach as my inspiration as some of you suggested it. Also, our wedding colors are orange, mint, and copper, so peach seems fitting. I’ll also be tanner and will be wear falsies 🙂

Wow! You are beautiful without makeup and did an amazing job with this!
I like both of your looks. On the first one I think everything is wonderful. To enhance it, I think you may want to run a gel comb through your brows to define them a bit more for your photos. Anastasia Beverly Hills makes a great one http://m.sephora.com/product/P187202?icid2=skugrid
The peach look is also beautiful! I would give the same comment about the eyebrows here. I think this plus the added lashes will be perfect
