Is anyone thinking about doing their own makeup? Doing my makeup really relaxes me and I wanted to kind of survey whether or not you guys think it’s a horrible idea or if not, maybe share some brands of foundation that I should consider for this occasion. Let me know 🙂

Hey,
I am bringng a MUA with me but just in case, I am prepared to do my own make up. Luckily, I have a very generous “Fairy God Mother” that gifted me over $300.00 in Mary Kay products! Im talking everything from foundation to brow gel. I suggest that you start experimenting with different foundation, make up looks, and etc…. good luck

I’m doing my own. We are getting married in jamaica and I don’t have anyone there that can do my makeup, and don’t want to rely on the spa at the resort in case I don’t like what they end up doing. I’m not a big makeup girl, so keeping it simple.
Estee Lauder foundation- no SPF and lasts forever!
bronzer and gel blush
a little mascara and eyebrow gel
doing a bold lip to make it look different than my everyday makeup
Check out a sephora … The salesgirls will be able to zero in on what you need and make suggestions

I did mine. I used Mary Kay matte foundation and the Naked 3 palette from Urban Decay. I had a few trials done by MUAs, and after doing my own make up for years and watching YouTube tutorials, I felt confident in my abilities. I was really happy knowing I looked like me and not a clown with thick makeup caked on.

I did my own. I am a professional makeup artist (licensed). It worked out well but even my hands shook from nerves (and ive worked on hundreds of brides!). Make sure to give yourself beyond plenty of time (like 2 hours). I wore Nars sheer matte but I typically use makeup forever HD, Dior, or Armani on my brides depending on skin type/tone/texture/sensitivities and the coverage/finish desired. I always set with chanel.
Good luck!!! Im sure it will turn out beautifully!!!!

I did mine, I had a professional MUA teach me how to do my make-up years ago and am very comfortable doing it and I like how it turns out.
I used my usual foundation/powder: Origins Supernatural
My eyeshadows, eyeliners and mascara are all Stilia.
I was really happy with how it turned out.

I love doing my own makeup and find it very relaxing. That said, I didn’t want to deal with shaky hands while applying eyeliner and false lashes. I told my MUA exactly what I wanted her to do, and I was very happy to just relax and let someone else work on me! I’d rather pay someone to do it perfectly than deal with even the slightest panic from mascara oops-es on my wedding day.

I’m doing my own. It’s been hard finding a MUA in our middle of nowhere destination that I like, and the travel fees that they charge are out of my budget. Has anyone bought the temptu makeup for airbrushing? I might buy this system.

I did my own makeup! I wish I had been able to find an artist in my price range. I found one that I liked okay but was $500. In the end I am happy I saved the money but I would have loved to book a pro!
