I am a mascara junkie and HATE Benefit They’re Real. Drugstore I say L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black. High End definitely YSL Faux Cils Shocking. Chanel Inimitable Intense is also good.

I know you said you don’t want falsh lashes, but have you considered just adding a few idividual ones? Ardell makes individual lashes, you can get them in short or medium, and I find just adding a few (like 3, tops) to your outer lashes really makes your eyes pop but it still looks super natural (not like strip lashes). I wear them all the time and it doesnt make my lashes longer but they just look a little fuller- a few can make a huge difference!

Just a thought!

I would try using the mascara you are using now, but add a waterproof, black liner to the top waterline to make the lashes look thicker. Also, if you put a little bit of powder (like setting powder) on the lashes before you apply the mascara it will make them a little bulkier. You can always apply more coats of mascara too!

I use any volumizing mascara (right now it’s Too Faced Better than Sex) first and then use Benefit’s They’re Real mascara. I love dramatic lashes and I have to use more than one to get the effect I like. “They’re Real” isn’t waterproof but it’s damn near impossible to get off so I think it can withstand some tears lol. Get the sample size from Sephora so you don’t waste a lot of money if you don’t like it.

My eyelashes vary every day to what they want to do… and most of the time, I look like I’m dead by the end of the day. But, I have been using Benefit “They’re Real” lately and I really do like it. Sometimes it looks great, and sometimes it makes them look spidery.

I did just get eyelash extensions the other day to try them out, and will do them for the wedding to make my eyes look open and actually show up in pictures. But, if I decide not to… I’ll probably use the Benefit stuff and just keep curling them throughout the day.

I second Two Faced Better than Sex.  My favorite mascara ever.  Also agree that Benefit’s They’re real is impossible to get off, as it is why I don’t really like using it.

I use false lashes on regular basis, depends on the type you choose. There are false lashes that make your eyes pop  in photo but look real at the same time. One time when I was buying coffee at starbuck, the cashier compliment on my lash and thought it’s my own lash.

When i want extra pop for my lashes i always use Rimmel Scandaleyes Lycra Flex. Its very easy to apply and gives quick volume and length. Plus its cheap 😉

My new favorite is Urban Decay’s Perversion. I have very light-colored, stumpy, fine lashes and Perversion is very black and goes on really well for me. Maybe it’s just me but I think any mascara does a better job if you curl your lashes before use.

The best mascara I’ve found is Dior. I use Newlook but have also tried Blackout and Iconic. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it.

Covergirl Lash Blast Waterproof.  I wear this every day and swear by it.  It’s the best mascara on the planet.  I’ve recommended it to friends and they always fall in love with it too.

anhelms:  I haven’t tried any drugstore mascaras since I don’t use mascara on a daily basis, so I tend to invest in more expensive brands. During college I worked as a makeup artist for Bobbie Brow and got to try quite a few other brands.  My favorites are Diorshow and Lancome Hypnose.  Those are the two that I still buy.  Whichever brand you pick, however, you should use a eyelash curler to pump them up a bit before applying mascara.  It works out really well for me since I unfortunately have eyelashes that curl down.
