Our wedding is in September and we’re at square one with invitations. We sent our Save the Dates via Paperless Post but want to send out paper invites. My fiance found this design on a ceramic plate, and we’d love to incorporate it in the invitations for our simple, seaside wedding:
I have very minimal design experience (though I’m willing to learn via Lynda or Skillshare) and I’d rather not spent a ton on design software. where to start?

Firstly, that pattern is stunning. I would have it run along the bottom of the invite and then use a navy blue for any wording. Perhaps a cursive font for your names to refelect the waves and then a more modern font for the rest of the info. I enjoy playing around with graphic design so feel free to pm me if you want help.

I would check Etsy for downloadable graphics that look similar. Is kind of Art Deco-ish, which is pretty popular right now, so you may find something!
I think that design would look beautiful as a band around your invites, or along the bottom of the invite, or even as the reverse side of the invite.
You can download GIMP, is super easy to use- I used it to design all my wedding invites and programs.
