Is this a different location?

If it is, then no. He is charging you for the time to drive there, set it up, sit and wait for the ceremony and then take it down. That is probably about 2 hours of time. Your ceremony is about 5-6 hours of time. I would say that is about on the mark. Its possible its a touch high ($50?) since he isnt actually doing anything during the ceremony, but he is working since he has to wait through it.

Does your venue have an option to provide you with a speaker and mic? I don’t know what your circumstances are, and this may not even be an option, but check into it if it is.

@sunangel08:  Yikes!  Our DJ is providing those things (at the same venue as the reception) for free, along with ceremony music, because he has to be there set up during the ceremony anyway.

@sunangel08: I don’t know. If he is already coming there to set up his DJ equippment I don’t know why a speaker and mic would be 300 bucks extra. He already needs those things. We got a package with our DJ that included a mic and speakers all night for us even though our venue provided it too.
