We are going to have a DJ at our reception and I’ve started thinking about music. What are you bees doing for dinner music? I have read that usually they play jazz or Frank Sinatra during dinner. The problem is, FH and I really dislike jazz and Frank Sinatra. We thought of an idea to maybe play cheesy love songs instead. Would this be lame? Distracting? What do you think? Any other ideas out there?

Fiance and I are all about “feel good” music… Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Juno Soundtrack, the Beatles, and such…
We made a list of feel good songs and we’ll prolly give them to the DJ for a dinner “suggested” playlist

We’re doing what we think our family will like. So it’s going to be rock and roll from the 50’s and 60’s. Stuff like The Big Boper, early Beatles. It’s not going to be loud so I whatever you do won’t be distracting. 🙂

Our DJ usually plays jazz and love songs during dinner. I think just love songs would be fine, if you really don’t care for jazz or Sinatra. Just be aware that some people may be disappointed. A lot of people love Sinatra and expect to hear his stuff at weddings, but ultimately it’s your choice. Just tell your DJ your preferences.

We were thinking of doing love songs too, so i dont think it would be lame.

I think I heard a bee on here say something about the couples who had been together a long time give her the names of “their song” and she had them played during dinner. I thought that was so sweet.

I’ve been thinking about this, glad you posted the question 🙂
I’m with @amnystik, maybe acoustic, coffeehouse type love songs.
