So I’ve still got awhile, but I’ve been angsting over whether or not to have a DJ. We all know the pros and cons, so I won’t rehash them.
I bought my dress on Sunday (yay!) and they gave me a bag with a bunch of business cards. One of them was for “the Simple DJ.” Sounds good, right?
It gets better. You create the playlist, they meet with you to assist. The day of the wedding, they setup, they play your music and they make announcements. However, they promise no jokes, no cheesiness and no awkward DJ moments! Woo hoo!!!
They only serve Indiana and Illinois, but it sounds like a great business model if you live far away from the midwest!
Anyway, just wanted to let you all know how excited I am! Hopefully they do all they promise (oooh, and it’s just $600!). For you midwest brides: http://www.thesimpledj.com/index.html
Good luck on your own searches!

@jo.lee: I was looking into them too but they dont have enough referances. I think Im going with Windy City DJ. The have gotten multiple awards from weddingwire, theknot and a few others. They promise all the same things tho the price is a bit more ($1000) for 6 hours. Music is of huge importance to me so I think Im willing to spend the extra (And Im on a tight budget!) for a for sure good DJ.

That sounds really cool! Unfortunately we’re in MO, so that sucks! But I’m thinking more and more about an “ipod” reception! I reallllllly don’t want to spend $600 on music!

Bailey: Thanks for the advice, I’ll look into them too :).

$600?!?! I didn’t think playing music would cost that much. I haven’t started on my DJ search but I have a feeling it won’t be fun…
