- Wedding: September 2011
I wanted to warn other brides about a dj company, because it ruined our wedding reception.
We hired Dusson, from Dsound Entertainment, because he seemed professional with a good rate and knowledgable.
We were so wrong!
He played 2 (yes two) actual sets of christmas carols during our dinner, with 6 carols played all together. He was nowhere to be seen, so my mother had to get up and find a way to turn it off herself. Our wedding was in late summer, so it was REALLY wierd.
He did not announce the bouquet toss and garter belt toss like he said he would, even when asked, so my husband had to take the mic away from him to do the announcements himself.
We had a band at our wedding which wasn’t able to play at the right time (was an hour late in starting) because Dusson wouldn’t turn off the absolutely CRAP music he was playing. I (the bride) had to tell him 2 times to stop the music to let the band play.
I had sent a list of songs that I wanted to hear during the wedding. He played only 6 of the 50 or 60 songs and refused to play the request to my MoH I had sent him.
He was absolutely incompetent with the mixer and was playing medium paced songs at the beat of a fast trance/techno song (think so fast that the singer sounded like one of the chipmunks. It was so bad that we all had to go over and tell him that it was obviously being played at 5 times the speed it should and to slow it down. So, he turned it down all the way so the song wasn’t even recognizable because it was so slow. Im mean, it was so fast then so slow that no one could physically dance to it. A deaf person would have done a better job.
He seemed dazed and confused, my entire wedding night, and couldn’t respond or say anything intelligable all night (like anything over 4 words was too much for him for some reason). This wasn’t normal for this guy since he was articulate and talkative in our earlier meetings and phone conversation.
The music was so bad that people later told me that they had actually left the wedding early because of it.
So, PLEASE, be warned about the dj company, DSound Entertainment. In particular, please DO NOT EVER hire Dusson.
He can’t mix, can’t play songs at the right speed, plays inappropriate music, doesn’t apologize for mistakes, is missing most of the night, has no taste in music, does not play requests (from anyone who hires him), lies and demands a payment upfront so you can’t get your money back and seemed like he was on serious drugs the whole time.
I would have to say that this man is literally the worse DJ in wedding music history.
