onceuponabee :  I think the setting looks like it was made for a slightly larger stone than the 6mm that is in it. You mentioned that early on you were considering a bigger stone which I believe would cover that metal and give you the seamless look you want. I would ask David if switching to a 6.5 or 7 mm moissanite would solve your issue.

onceuponabee :  I’m not sure I was clear in my previous post that I am suggesting David put a larger stone in THIS setting that he has already made.  The outer edge of the ring (halo) will not change in size simply because you use a slightly larger center stone, so I do not think the ring will look any bigger on your hand. The larger center stone will just come closer to the inner edge of the diamonds in the halo (or possibly overlap them ever so slightly which is my personal preference). As long as there is room underneath for a deeper stone to sit low, the larger center stone will cover up all that metal and air space that is currently showing and produce a beautiful seamless transition with the halo. I am not optimistic that you are going to get the look you desire simply by etching the metal because there will still be a gap between the halo diamonds and the center stone.

Let him do the etching and see if you like it. Go from there. He will make it right no matter what so don’t worry about that! Curious to see what he does to change it. Following for the update! 🙂

onceuponabee :  I would imagine if the Ring has to be remade that it would take precedent and be done rather quickly.

I found a pre-loved setting from another Bee that I believe had the “etching” you’re talking about. I didn’t end up buying it, but I know she put so much thought into it to make sure it was perfect and there was no airline. The stones in the corners of the halo were a tiny bit larger too, making it appear more rounded around the center stone. Here’s the link for the consignment piece so you can see what I’m talking about inside the halo itself. This will change the appearance so it’s not a shiny piece of metal showing and it’ll stand out less. At least I *think* this is what he’s talking about. Lol. I could be way off base here.

I believe in the original setting her diamond girdle barely overlapped the halo too to prevent an airline. So if you like your center stone size, it might need to be remade after all. Hopefully not! Did he respond about putting a bigger center stone in? Is that even an option to return the stone you already have? Also, here’s the completed ring I sent the link for. I’m very visual, so I hope this helps! Me posting pics of this ring again is making me rethink the one I’m having made! Lol! It’s SO beautiful!!!

onceuponabee :  That’s the biggest reason  I went with 6 prongs, although I think I could have gone with 8 honestly.  I wear a full size smaller than you do.  And mine is a 1 carat equiv moissy.  I absolutely love how seamless the ring looks to me.  the only thing that really bothers me is that he soldered the band slightly off to the ering but no one notices that but me and unless it’s in a picture.

He’s a still of the ring, it has milgrain and engraving on all points around the ring.  Somedays I think it might be too much for my finger, it does sit 10mm off my finger but most days I’m like I’m glad I went this big
