Hi All!  So again, long time no update.  At this point it is just the finer details we are working on, all our big vendors have been booked. Here are a few things I was extra excited about, our illustration is done and I ordered thank you cards from vistaprint (I designed the thank you cards using the illustration) and they came out great!  I also just finished up designing our menu and menus for the bar, they are still drafts but I am excited about how they came out. I also got some gorgeous ribbon for our bouquets from Frou Frou Chic, expensive but totally worth it as the ribbons are absolutely gorgeous! Our new house is moving along really well and we should have our pre-drywall meeting in the next week or so. My mom is coming down in a few weeks to go to the flower mock up with me and to go to my 2nd dress fitting, time is moving so fast! How is everyone else doing?

sagefemme :  Congrats and welcome! I’m trying to stay at $15k or less for 120 (hopefully 100 lol.) We are getting married at the Great Room at Savage Mill in Savage, MD next May.

sunshineglam :  everything looks gorg! I hope you share some pics of the day on here. No news on my end really but I’m so happy we have less than a year to go now. Will probably start making our flower wall soon.

ecampbell :  what sort of florals are you getting. We were gonna diy ours but your price for the florist seems right up our alley lol.

jerzgrlnmd :  Yeah, I was thinking about DIYing our florals before I found Scentsational Florals! They have two locations, so hopefully one is near your venue.

We’re having mostly sunflowers, daisies, and baby’s breath. The price is for my bouquet, two bridesmaids’ bouquets, 2 boutoinnieres (probably misspelled that), petals for the flower girl to throw, 6 sunflowers to tie onto ceremony chairs, 3 sunflower heads for our cake, and 8 centerpieces (mason jars with 3 sunflowers and baby’s breath). This is pretty much what I had envisioned, and I’m sure they’ll do it much better than I would!

You can go to their Scentsational Florals’ website and fill out a form with how many people are in your wedding party, flowers you like/dislike, price point, etc., and they’ll work with you. I worked with Gricel via e-mail, and she made 4 or 5 changes to the quote to get it just right. I had a great experience with them (so far)!

ecampbell :  that’s awesome! I went to the site earlier so I’ll definitely contact them. We have no wedding party so we need a bouquet for me and 10-12 centerpieces (bud vases most likely). Thanks for the information.

jerzgrlnmd :  Yes!!! I haven’t had a chance to check WeddingBee until now. Here’s one of my favorite pictures (so far) from our big day:

We really lucked out; it was downpouring where we got married, but it stopped right before we took photos and again right before the cake-cutting (so our photographer had us sneak out for a couple photos, including this one!). Also, our venue was AWESOME; we didn’t rent the tent (which would have been about $2k extra), but they let us use it anyway! 🙂

Good luck to everyone else still planning! The day went by so quickly, especially the ceremony. I still didn’t 100% believe it was happening until the ceremony was almost over. Haha. Try to enjoy every minute!

Hi DC area brides!  Just a quick update on our wedding just about 2 weeks out (8/19).  I am busy finalizing last minute details; welcome boxes, bathroom amenity boxes, gifts for the bridal party and our parents and finishing my only DIY – tulle ceremony/cake backdrop. Also working on our ceremony and timeline, we have our final venue walkthrough with our planner next Tuesday, really in the final stretch now and cannot wait!.  Since I love the details here are some fun things I have purchased/finalized over the last month or so (monogrammed napkins for head table, personalized clutch – mine isn’t pictured, our menus and head place card inspiration):
