jerzgrlnmd :  Thank you!  It was absolutely perfect :-). Our wedding planner was a rock star and I spent my time eating, drinking and dancing with my family and friends. I seriously coulnd’t have even imagined a better day. My husband did miss 1/2 of my walk down the aisle though!  He was waiting for his cue from the planner (but she was with me), his groomsmen had to call him out from behind the draping. But I have put some photos below, still waiting for our pro photos, since she shoots in film the scans take longer… and in case you were curious I have also attached a link to our wedding video sneak peek..

jerzgrlnmd :  I’ve been wondering how everyone has been doing! Married life is great. πŸ™‚ It’s not really too different for us, though, because we already lived together. But it’s really nice being able to say “my husband.” πŸ™‚ How’s your planning coming along??

Married life is good. I got married at Newton White Mansion back in September. I kept my wedding really budget friendly. We DIY’ed flowers, paper goods, etc. I was really happy with how everything came out.

Where are you getting married?

jerzgrlnmd :  Hey!!! I have been around just hanging out on the TTC boards. Married life has actually been great, I know we were both worried with so much going on at once (marriage, building new house, moving, living together for the first time) but everything has been so seamless. Other than that life has it’s ups and downs, (for full story my posts are on the TTC boards) but overall we are really lucky and have grown closer through everything. Shared a bunch more pro photos of the wedding below as I never did a recap. I still can’t believe we did all this in the last 5 months, it’s been a blast. Next up is finally planning our honeymoon (decided on Maui, hopefully going in the next couple months) How is everything going for you? May will be here before you know it!

ecampbell :  awesome to hear from you! Glad everything is well. Wedding planning has been going fine for me, there was a long while where nothing was going on but now everything is coming up super fast lol. We got our invitations a few weeks back and will be sending them out in March. We got a wedding broom to jump over and I set up our hotel block.

spaceship54321 :  Your venue was one we were really interested in, it is beautiful. We are using Flower Moxie to DIY our flowers. Do you have any photos of yours? We are getting married at The Great Room at Savage Mill.

melissa17 :  Our wedding is May 19th so in about 4 months. 6 weeks more weeks for you, awesome! I am sure all the little details are pulling together for you two.

sunshineglam :  Beautiful pictures, I am so happy that you shared them. Maui will be amazing and I am sure a much needed break for you and your husband. All is fine on my end, just finalizing the tiny details…I need to make a list because I am very disorganized right now lol.

sunshineglam :  GORGEOUS WEDDING πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ™ŒπŸΎ

jerzgrlnmd :  I thought of using Flower Moxie, but I ended up just buying in bulk. We ended up spending $600 and had flowers EVERYWHERE. I actually bought too many lol. Obviously I’m not a professional, so nothing was perfect, but I think overall everything looked pretty good for what we paid. It was a lot of work the night before too, but worth it. I had two friends help.

Centerpieces (I kept them small to make it easy for us):

I made these to hang on the ceremony chairs:

I bought this this greenery Garland from Costco. 25ft for $70

Bridesmaid Bouquets:

spaceship54321 :  OMG! Everything looks beautiful! I honestly would not know that you diyed the flowers. They look JUST like the pictures a florist sent to me when I was getting a quote. My colors are very similar but we have some poppy red in there. You and your love look amazing. Everything looks soooooo nice!

jerzgrlnmd :  Thank you! It’s crazy how much cheaper it was too. I got quotes in the $2-$3k range. I didn’t even buy expensive flowers. I used regular roses, spray roses, stock, hydrangeas, Queen Anne’s lace and seeded eucalyptus. $600 bucks bought me more than enough for:

-ceremony arch

– 12 small chair arrangements

-6 bouquets

– 8 bouttonieres

– 2 flower girls

– 14 centerpieces

– 4 cafe table centerpieces for cocktail hour

– cake flowers

-extra small arrangements to stick in random places

I can’t wait to see your flower moxie flowers. I follow her on IG and she is HILARIOUS LOL.

sunshineglam :  thank you! Congratulations to you too!

I haven’t done a recap yet, but I think I will for my other DIY/ budget  brides out there. I also took a gamble and did what everyone says not to do…I hired an inexpensive photographer. He was $1200 for 8 hrs and did a wonderful job.
