I’m on BC pills. Before we got married, I’d say at least 90% of the time we doubled up with condoms also. But after the wedding? Never use them anymore and just rely on the BC pills.

Condoms break! And they don’t feel all that great for me or my Fiance. So I have a Mirena IUD. I’ve had it for 6 years and I love it. I’d never use anything else. It’s more effective than tubal ligation, yes it’s a low dose hormone so it doesn’t cause mood swings or weight gain.  It’s amazing. I highly recomend it.

@MrsPanda99:  Can’t recommend an IUD enough! Easy in, easy out and it can last for 5 years. I’ve done the shot, the pill, Nuvaring, the patch and I love my IUD.

I also had a stroke because of BC so at the moment we are using condoms, but since I was on BC so long sometimes we forget and uhhh pull spray and pray method comes into play!! I’m thinking of getting an IUD when I see my OBGYN next week, I’ve just heard such horror stories that I’m afraidw

@MrsPanda99:  hmm, I’m also allergic to latex, but my husband and I use the poly ones and it works out just fine!

We use BC and condoms. I use Nuvaring instead of pills, which is way easier. We don’t want kids before we’re married, so we double up. I told him once we get married we can at least drop the condoms, even though we won’t be TTC for about a year. He’s very excited about that lol

We use birth control. I’ve taken breaks from the pill since I was 16. We are planning to start our family shortly after the wedding, so I will not take them anymore starting in September.

We use condoms exclusively.

After going off of BCP about six months ago my DH and I have been using condoms solely. The pills made my blood pressure sky rocket and gave me incredible hormonal headaches and the depression during my time of the month was ridiculous.

Once we have kids I will likely get an IUD but I will avoid BCP at all costs for the rest of my life, I just don’t like how they make me feel.

@MrsPanda99:  We do. I haven’t used chemical birth control in years, I can’t stand what it does to my body. I even had an IUD and NuvaRing for a while which each had more cons than pros IMO.

After years of using the withdrawal method we decided to go back to using condoms (long story) and we were worried that it wouldn’t feel as good but actually things feel way better.

I stopped using BCP about 2 months ago after 7 years of use. Nuvaring made me crazy!! Anyway, we plan on using condoms as our birth control until we are ready to concieve. I don’t think we’ll have any problems with it.

I don’t think I would ever go to condoms only. If I wasn’t able to be on hormones anymore (I’m on Mirena), I would go to Paragard and charting (the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a really good resource).

I tried 5 different BC. They all gave me what would be considered a stroke if it had been any worse. It was ALWAYS the same. I would be okay for two – three months. Then I’d get my monthly, I would literally go blind for a few minutes, break out in a sweat, pass out…and I NEVER got a full explanation of what the root cause was. My body just cannot handle BC.

It really bums me out because I am super paranoid about getting pregnant. Fiance and I always use condom’s no matter what. It would be a relief if I could use it though. Once we have kids and are DONE I will have my tubes tied right away.

we use only condoms, BC hormones make me go unbalanced, so no thank you very much. We’re never had a problem in five years, but at this point we are ready to be parents, but 98% effective with perfect use, but I don’t think most people account for pre-cum so that may effect the success/failure rate.
