I initially didn’t want a wedding band because I just love my e-ring on its own and don’t think I’d like wearing more than 1 ring on my finger. But after seeing so many beautiful wedding bands on here, I’m starting to change my mind….
I think I’m going to get a cheapo version that looks close to the one I’m thinking about and wear it around at home for a bit to decide if I like it or if I just like the IDEA of it.

I say, wear what you like.
missfroggy: Nothing can say “taken” more than that beautiful ering you have! I say rock it alone if you want!

I’ve been thinking about this exact thing for a couple of weeks now. Even worn my engagement ring on my right hand as a RHR. I think it just looks so lovely and classic and when it’s with my eternity wedding band, I feel that it’s overall look is somehow subdued.
I also love the look of my wedding ring just by itself too. I might try this for a whole week and see if it sticks.

Some rings look amazing all by themselves, but my engagement ring actually has 2 bands, while my wedding band sits in the middle [pro pics coming soon!], so I felt like I NEEDED the band!

I prefer the look of mine with the wedding band. They look like they’re a matching set, but aren’t.
I don’t love my wedding band alone! When shopping I never really considered the possibility of wearing it on its own, it looks nice but its a plain platinum band and doesn’t wow on its own quite like my engagement ring does.

I feel the opposite. My ring doesn’t feel complete without the bands

I don’t feel like rings say, “Married” unless there is a band with the engagement ring, although a band alone says it, too. I prefer having an engagement ring and wedding band that look great together, with the wedding band looking great by itself, too. However, the beautiful thing about rings is that you can wear yours however you wish. Other people only have to like what is on their own hands.

I occasionally find myself loving the e-ring more by itself.

blushbliss: I always thought your ring with the bands was one piece. 🙂 I like it both ways.

missfroggy: maybe it wasn’t you that I’m thinking of. I don’t know why I thought that lol. Did your grandmother give you a ring that maybe you posted in another thread?

I’m the same! In fact, I’m struggling so much with this now because I’m shopping for a wedding band and can’t find anyhting I like! My ring is very delicate, with a .5c solitaire and mivro pave setting. The thing I like the most about my ring is how delicate it looks, but as soon as I add a wedding band to it, even a very thin one, it looses that quality to me. I also find the diamond gets lots and looks even smaller. I have to make a decision soon on whehter I want a wedding band or not…we’ve considered wearing our wedding bands on our right hand which may be an option!

I did…until just a week or so ago. I switched to liking my ering better with my wedding band. It took since May 17th, so about 6 months.
