haha yes.  it’s really gross.  My husband and I have finished off three bags of cadbury mini eggs since like Thursday night.  I don’t know what’s wrong with us.

I work out in the mornings. Sick, I know. I was up at 630 on Saturday morning and at the gym from 8-9. Today I was there at 10:15 for spin class. While I may have splurged a little (i had 3 beers Saturday night) and a brownie with ice cream for dessert tonight (belated bday celebration), the gym keeps me from just going bananas on a bag of chicks or polishing off an inhumane quantity of candy. Or, helps balance the fact that sometimes the events of the weekend are unavoidable. For the most part, I use weekends to splurge on things like sushi (i know crazy!) or have eggs on toast (two eggs plus 2 pieces whole wheat toast…yeah…) for meals.

Going to the gym helps me not want to 100% undo what I did all day though!

omg I thought I was alone on this….I am the same way I wish we could get some great advice on how to stay on track but I have a feeling it’s going to be all about self-control and only indulging once in awhile and blah blah but it really is hard on the weekends without the structure of timing and only being able ot eat what is packed and/or made….ugh I am right with you and I hate it bc the whole weekend ruins all my hard work from the week 🙁

@ms.sweets and any other bees, I give nutrition & exercise advice for a living so if you have a question, feel free to pm me. The best tip I give clients is to remember 80/20. Eat well 80% of the time and 20% of the time don’t feel guilty about eating bad. Good luck!

I think it’s sooo easy! I do it too, and I hate it! We made a pact to stop eating out though, so that has really curbed my bad behaviors, and is saving soooo much money 🙂

This happens to me every weekend.  On Friday I had sushi, LOTS of whiskey and coke, a hurricane (an amazing drink that doesn’t taste like it’s half rum, but it is).  On Saturday, I went to IHOP for a hungover breakfast, had a turkey burger (the most healthy thing all weekend), and ramen (I don’t know why I didn’t give this up after college. haha).  Besides the IHOP, I guess I didn’t eat all that bad, but I drink a lot on the weekends when I go out, and it completely ruins my diet. I try to make up for it by working out at least one day on the weekend or adding an extra day during the week and not cheating on my diet during the week since my weekends are usually pretty bad.  I think that one cheat night a week isn’t bad as long as everything is in moderation.

@laboroflove, we made a pact to stop eating out too! I spent 3 hours today cooking all our dinners for the week so now we have no excuse for going out

a lot of people are mentioning sushi.  Is sushi really bad for you?  I always thought it was good for you!

I’ve been on a diet for over a week now, and I was doing totally fine until I went to the movies and there was popcorn, ice cream, pretzels, etc. I shared a small popcorn with FH and drank a small soda but it was sooooo hard not to want the caramel popcorn, the larger soda, etc. Then we went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and all the high calorie pizzas, desserts, and sweet cocktails were there calling my name. I checked calorieking.com beforehand and found the lowest calorie dish on the menu and ate that with a glass of water. We walked around the mall and there was Coldstones, doughnuts, waffles, etc. and that was really hard too.

Like I said, I was fine until yesterday and now I crave sweets. I know it’s really impractical but I think the key is not to go out anywhere where there are temptations. In order to stick to my 1,600 calories a day diet I’ve been cooking a lot- there are no snacks in this house!

Ohhhh and I agree with ejs4y8 that going to the gym really helps. Through diet and exercise I’ve lost 2 pounds in one week; I check my weight every day and knowing that it is (slooooowly) going down is real motivation not to go over the limit.

I encourage people to not to worry about calories but to count carbs. When you are eating a low carb, high fat, high protein diet it is hard to over eat. I’ve noticed that I stay full longer. The weight loss is nice and made better because I’ve kept it off!

Oooh, I wish I could watch my carbs but I live in Japan where the staple is rice, rice, RICE. And when one want to get away from rice here, it’s… pasta!
