@hislittlepenguin:  Europe in general is expensive! I read Lunalyra’s post. The diamond prices are insane, compared to the US. there are hardly diamonds bigger than 0.5 here and if you find one, it is top quality so very expensive!

All my bands are 1/4 carat for a TCW of 3/4 carat. I think its beautiful and just the right size for me!

Mine’s 0.25 – I think it’s plenty big enough, especially with the illusion setting!

@sunshinewish15:  I have a delicate ring and I love it- nothing to do with cost etc just not my style to have big diamonds (although I do still appreciate them on other people)

My ring is an antique victorian ring- platinum and 18 ct gold.

Theres some beautiful rings on here!

My center stone is a .45 (I usually just call it a half carat though lol) but I have a size 8 finger, so a smaller diamond would look like this on you.

I would theoretically love to have a larger center stone, just due to my finger size, but the amount spent on this was a LOT for Fiance and at this point we would rather save our money for kids and retirement, so I don’t plan to upgrade it.  We could have gotten something larger, but I didn’t want to go down in quality, and I was completely set on my setting πŸ™‚

I am also a UK bee and we found my diamond in a small diamond house in Manchester. We were heading to Tiffany’s and found this place – so much better!

We selected the exact diamond I would be wearing, and another thing that relates to what @lunalyra said is that if you go to a high street jewellery and buy that ring, your imperfections may be smack bang in the middle and they will only swap it once, I believe. So it’s stupidly dear ith a pretty big risk!

I got a 0.51 (the 0.01 counts! lol) E colour SI1 diamond with pretty much damn near perfect cuts, girdles etc and we paid £1,900. Compared to the one from earnest jones? Insane.

I absolutely adore my diamond πŸ™‚ It is a wee small for here and some of the areas of Cheshire we’re near, but it’s perfect for me! Yes, I love big diamonds and no I would not have turned down a pumped up version of mine! πŸ˜€ But I would never, ever change it now; I adore it! πŸ™‚ x

@LeopardPrintBee:  Ahh! Thank you!  I’ve been engaged for a year and a few months, and only a few people have ever said that! πŸ™‚

I love the side view too:

ETA: Sorry for threadjacking, and sorry for the huge pic!

We decided what day we’re going to buy our wedding bands, so I’ve been stalking the website all day.  This is what’s currently on the homepage, and it made me think of this thread.

I am commenting becasue  i just “accidently” bought a .25 ct marquise solitaire off ebay. I was thinking if I could get it for cheap, I might re-sell it – lol. i paid 103.00 for it and when it came, I fell absolutely in love with it. I have been married for a while, and have a 1 ct (a little less, actually) round solitaire but this one looks so dainty n my finger. i actually think it makes my finger look less stubby and thick. maybe it is the size or maybe it is the marquise shape, but either way I have been wearing her out of choice for a day and a half now πŸ™‚ here she is:

And here is my 1 ct solitaire:

I love my small ring, I’m not comfortable with big or flashy jewelry so it fits me perfectly.

My center stone is .40 ct and the diamonds on the side total to .17 ct and all together a total of .57 ctw. I love the size and everything about it even if it’s not super big or expensive. I MAY upgrade to a half carat in the future but no higher than that.
