You should totally do some different flavors.  I’ve made butterfinger cookies before.  You can make red velvet cookies.  There’s tons of cookie ideas out there.

ETA:  white chocolate macadamia, chocolate chunk, chocolate chocolate chip/chunk, peanut butter chip, m&m chip.. the list can be endless!

I think there are really plain tasting sugar iced cookies but I have also had some delicious ones. Personally, as long as they aren’t rock hard I love them!

I think sugar cookies taste better when some other flavor is added- lemon or orange peel, rosemary, vanilla bean seeds etc.

Iced sugar cookies have always been delicious in my experience, but I have heard of people encountering icky ones. I like them though and I think they’d be super cute and great for a wedding.

Have you gotten them priced out? The detail work looks really labor intensive, which could make them cost way way more than a cake!

I think they definitely CAN taste good and be that pretty, but it depends on the cookie. Were you going to have a bakery make them? If so, try cookies from different bakeries until you find ones you like the taste of.

I personally voted for ALL OF THE COOKIES! because, well hello cookies! Also, the icing might change the overall taste of certain cookies, so it would be nice to have multiple options. If this isn’t possible, I would definitely say try out your favorite flavors with the icing beforehand. Yum! Now I need to grab a couple of cookies from the pantry 🙂
