It would help if we could see a pic of you in it.  I have seen petitie brides in a dropped waist ballgown and I thought they looked beautiful in it.  I would go for it if you love it.  You are going to be in heels too right?

Honey if you loved the dress it doesnt matter what is recommended.  Did you think you looked short?  And absolute worst case senario if you get the dress and you do think you look to short, a seemstress can do simple things to make you look taller.  Example – I got a dropped waist and am adding a ribbon below the bust.  Dont second guess yourself.  You are going to look amazing!

I’m 5’3″, your dress was one of the very first dresses I tried on and I loved the fit. You have nothing to worry about, that is a very flattering cut.

I really love that dress.  i am 5’3 and my dress is similar.  Exact same silloheute but I think my waist might hit a bit higher, but not by much if it is higher than yours. The waist is not super dropped.  i thought this sillhoutte looked the best on me.  I have a short waist and long legs for a short person.  Good job getting the good deal!

I think it depends on your body. I feel that I look terible in anything drop waisted because it draws attention to my hips which are my widest part. I’m more of an A-line person but I’ve seen drop waised dresses look great on other people. If you like how you look in the dress, don’t wory about looking short, you will look beautiful if you feel beautiful.

It is suggested that shortish brides stay away from dropped waist dresses ( I am 5’4″ and that is what I have been told) but I am sure it depends on the specific dress and the person wearing it! You will look lovely in the dress I’m sure!!!

My dress is a dropped waist and the beading detail is at that point as well. I am 5’3 but my shoes are 4″…so I’ll be almost 5’7″ (love my heels). I am more worried about my shape vs. my height. LOL I am definitely pear shaped AND a D cup. But, I fell in love with my dress and I think I look good in it. So, I think if you love the dress, don’t worry about it.
Plus, if your groom is 6’4″…ANYTHING will make you look short. LOL
The dress is beautiful. I think you have nothing to worry about.

I am 4’11 and the styles that look best on me are dropped waist. It depends more on your shape than on your height.

If you loved it when you bought it, then it’s the right dress for you.

i think you are too paranoid, your height is your height and i dont think any dress can significantly change that. plus why do you we have to look tall??  you will look beautiful and that is what is important

Here is my drop waist.  I am just under 5′.  My shoes are maybe 3″.  I thought it was OK for me, you can decide.  If you wear your hair up and your veil has “top volume”, that will also add inches.
