I always thought it was for anyone who wasn’t engaged and /or married. So ladies in a relationship but not yet engaged were of course welcome to participate.

At our wedding a friend of mine that is engaged participated which I thought was strange…I mean she is already getting married so the bouquet ju ju magic would be pointless right?

I would think it would only be those who aren’t engaged or married.

    participate if un married.

    engaged is not married.

non-married, non-engaged ladies. But as a general rule, never ever call people out to participate or drag them up from seats. I’ve seen that at weddings and its mortifying for those poor girls…if they want to participate I’m sure they’ll be up without any encouragement

@Treejewel19:  One of my girlfriends did that at my wedding as well and I thought it was weird. Thankfully she didn’t catch it, but still…

I never did when I was engaged. I’d feel a little silly catching the bouquet and being the “next one” to get married when I was already one of the next ones…

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with engaged women participating, though. I was just looking for an excuse to get out of it. 😉

I was at a wedding 2 weeks ago and I went up for it. So did a few other engaged ladies.

The last wedding I went to, engaged girls participated, and it was an engaged girl who caught the bouquet…haha

I don’t now that I’m engaged, but at the last wedding I attended the dj made a point to say that engaged ladies should still participate.

I wouldn’t now that I’m engaged. The point to my knowledge is to find out who will be the next to get married… if you are engaged, you already know, at least a general sense anyway, when you are getting married. So, kind of defeats the purpose in my opinion.

ETA: I hate the bouquet toss, so I would find any reason to avoid it anyway, haha. Not having one at my wedding.

I think it’s for girls that aren’t engaged. I mean, you catch the bouquet and it’s like, “Oh yay? I am the next to get married!….Well duh lol. I got pushed into it last time and I was definitely not into it
