So I was all excited that we’d narrowed it down to the JCrew dresses in Monterey Pine or Dusty Shale . I showed them to Fiance online, and he is worried that green bridesmaid dresses will clash with the grass and leaves in our outdoor ceremony! I really wish he’d have brought this up before when we talked about colors…but I specifically sought out “natural” shades of green that I thought would blend monochromatically with the environoment. Our other options are browns/tans or grays/blacks because we want to keep it neutral and natural. But I’m not a huge fan of brown dresses next to the black suits… and I much prefer black over gray, but our mom’s think black is not really appropriate…
What do you think of these greens? Would either one clash with the outdoors? Should I consider going with another color?

There is no way that green can clash with outdoor vegetation. When you think of it, have you ever been outside and said to yourself” Man, those trees really clash with the lawn”.

@julies1949: Whenever I am outside, I always think, “Man, those trees really clash with the lawn.”
@waitingwonderland: All three colors are fine. Green in nature is so different from green clothing, too.

I think brown or grey is just as likely to clash with the scenery as green is. Which is to say, I don’t think you should worry about it, I think green or grey would look beautiful. I’m not a huge fan of brown either. If you’re going for neutral and natural, any color you pick will occur in nature and therefore have a potential for clashing with the scenery as your Fiance put it. However, rather than clashing I think that will look great and enhance the natural beauty of both the location and your BM’s even more. Go with whatever color you like best, I prefer Monterey Pine, but that’s my favorite color too so I’m biased. lol
ETA: LOL at trees clashing with grass! I can just picture that conversation. I think PP said it better than me, but I think it will look fine is what I was trying to say.

@waitingwonderland: Uh no. I consider vegetation green to be a neutral. Nothing clashes with it.

@julies1949: LOL good point, I’m gonna tell him that. By The Way he’s an art director, so … this is the level of minutia I’m dealing with on like every decision we make…haha! Groomzilla…but I love him

I’m saying this with a wink…
Are you listening to yourself? Is Fiance listening to HIMself?? Are you seriously talking about coordinating your clothes with your surroundings?
What if someone drives by in a green Mazda? Have you thought about the church doors? And Dusty Shale? You SURE that’s not too close to the particular shade of gray of the sidewalks?
Honey, no one EVER looks at ANYONE and thinks, “Gee, their chinos really clash with the Mojave Desert.” They’re not going to think that when it comes to your BMs either. Unless–like I said–they are insane. 😉

Um, no. Green does not clash with itself. I had a garden wedding and I asked my girls to wear green. I loved how it turned out:

I really like the dusty shade, the Monterey pine looks like a “forest” green color.

Actually, now that I am looking at the picture, the tree in the back does clash a bit with the lawn
