I’m in Canada, and our customs/traditions are the same as in the states – that being said there are several ways things could be done.  Typically, the brides expenses are paid for by just the Maid/Matron of Honor, a split between the BMs, or a split between everyone.  Similarly, sometimes everyone picks one thing to pay for instead of making it all even (some one pays for her dinner, some one else gets her drinks at a bar, someone else picks up all the bachelorette sashes and glowing rings and penis straws etc).  Perhaps you could suggest this and pick something you’d be comfortable paying for?  One suggestion would be to bring her a “bride” tank or tee to wear for the night – (instead of buying expensive pre-made in store, pick up a $5 tank top and a $2 iron on transfer sheet, use your computer to print the transfer, and iron it on!).  Or, you could only opt in to PART of the night (ie: dinner) and make an excuse that you have to be somewhere else if you’re uncomfortabl informing the BMs about your finances…
