@csandmr:  Here in the NYC area u can get a MUA for about $150. Wont you spend about that much anyway by the time you buy that kit PLUS all the other tools u will need?

ETA: i dont think you would be saving much by going this route.

Just FYI, you can use your own foundation in an airbrush by watering it down.

I think airbrushes are useless for personal use. They will never pay for themselves.

You can always look into ebay and craigslist as well. I am an mua and I bought my temptu airbrush on craigslist for $60 and I buy the foundation for it from a seller on ebay.

I have never used a luminess but i love temptu because they have the traditional airbrush machine where you can mix shades to to your liking and they have the airpods for people who want something more simple. Airbrush make-up is generally   waterproof/water resist and is photo friendly which is why it is so popular for weddings. You can always try the system and if u dont like it sell it. My machine was the best investment I made in my kit. However if u want go to your local macys and get a sample of estee lauders invisible fluid foundation and test diors “airbrush” foundation. They are both very good for photos as well.

I have the Dinair system and I LOVE it!  I am going the DIY route as well, so I purchased it to practice.  It cut my makeup time in half and I still don’t totally have the hang of it 🙂
