Ours is on for 10 hours, we required to feed him or give him an hour break. If yours isn’t coming to the reception, its up to you. I would offer so that you get the best service from him/her, though. Its always best to keep your vendors happy.

It’s polite to offer. Most places have vendor meals. Maybe you can ask the site to make a sandwich for him to take with him.

I offered a meal. However, they stayed during the entire thing which was 10 hours or so. Plus my venue offered vendor meals at 25% of the cost of the normal plates.

if he’s not staying for the reception/will be there for less than 4 hours, then no.

If he’s not staying for the reception portion, I don’t see why you would.  We fed our photographer, but he worked all day (morning at my house until partway through the reception).  We also shared sandwiches with him at lunchtime.

We are feeding ours, but they will be there the entire time. In your case; probably not. Check your contract to see what it says. Usually, if the vendor is there for less than 4 hours, they don’t need a meal.

Our contract says we have to feed them or give them a break so they can go get something.

Since we’re doing buffet, I told them they can graze as much as they want to!

if they’re not at your reception, then i don’t think there is a need to feed them. i think it depends on the amount of time you have booked with them.

Sounds like you don’t need to feed them since they will be there for such a short period of time

@Ms_Smitten:

I’m thinking the photographer would let you know whether they require a meal or not; for ours its was part of the contract.

I’m not contractually required to because of the time, but I love my photographers and I plan to feed them! I’m also planning to make them a “photo fuel” bag with water, granola bars, etc.
