    I don’t want to open gifts at my shower either, I think it’s boring and awkward. A LOT of people think it’s very rude to not open though so i’m going to endure it 🙂
    To make it a little less boring and awkward though my sister made a bingo game with items I registered for so the guests can mark off spots as i open every gift…

    Yes, it’s expected since that is the entire purpose of a shower. If you don’t want to open them in front of anyone, your best plan of action would be to tell the hostesses that you don’t want a party at all. Otherwise you risk deeply offending guests if you choose to not open them at the shower.
