- Wedding: March 2011
Fiance and I are talking over the wedding guest list and he got the list that his mom made of his family and her friends. So we are going over the list and we find two names we don’t know. It turns out it is my future sister-in-law’s husband’s parents. I have never met them and Brandon has said that he has only seen them a handful of times and so he doesn’t want to invite them. We came up with a deal that we would deal with our respective sides of the family so this was his decision alone. I said “Fine, but you better tell your mom so if they don’t get an invitation at least your mom knows why.”
So he gets up and tells her and she was fine with it, she understood. However, his sister freaks out and goes on and on about why they should come under the simple guise of “family” but my fiance kept telling her no. He doesn’t even like her husband and he HAS to invite him, why invite the guy’s parents? Her case was also that he invited his brother’s in-laws which is different because my fiance actually knows them and we have seen them a lot.
Although this is his decision, a part of me just wants to keep the peace and let them come but this isn’t what he wants at all. What to do?
