I am torn on if I keep the shoes I bought last summer (Grace brand, Elena) or do I buy another pair. The Grace shoes are beautiful, but much much higher than I normally wear (I am a kitten heel kind of girl), and they also put me right at my fiance’s height (I am 5’5″ and he is 5’9″). My bridal salon consultant talked me into buying them ($150) and though I had buyers remorse the next day, I wasn’t allowed to return them (granted, I didn’t ask about the return policy).
So – I am going for my first fitting on Thursday, and am torn, do I keep the shoe that I have, which I consider super high, or do I buy another, shorter pair of shoes in the next week? The same salon now has a pair of kitten heels for $80, that are more my style of height, though not as pretty as my original shoe.
Help! I’m terrified I’ll fall walking down the aisle or look silly being his height in pictures. 🙁

I think it’s most important that you’re comfortable! If you think that you won’t be able to handle the super high ones, maybe you can sell them on ebay and get the shorter ones instead?

If you’ve had them for a year and you’re still concerned, then I say get rid of them and wear a pair you’re going to be comfortable with.

woah! yeah, get the kitten heels.
Have you tried selling the other shoes? You’ll still take a loss on them, but if you’ll never wear them, it’s better to sell them and recoup SOME of that money!

Comfort is crucial. If you aren’t comfortable in your shoes, that will throw everything off and people will notice. $150 is not worth the discomfort they bring you, no matter how pretty they may be.

Function before fashion – without a doubt. Who will really see your shoes, anyway?? Maybe you can resell the original, pricy pair online. A lot of girls get excited about their bridal shoes but it’s just not something that gets me hyped. I’m wearing simple wedges b/c like you, I never wear heels and don’t want to be scared to dance or worse fall in front of everyone!!

Thanks everyone! I’m going to sell the shoes and find another pair.
