It kind of depends on your preference.  I have always thought you’ve chosen a beautiful dress, and would personally go for the “poof” factor with a hoop or crinoline.  But this is totally up to you! Why don’t you try one and see what you think?

Youve got good poof already. If you want a little more you might want to try another crinoline. Keep in mind anything you add underneath will be more bulk, more heat, and more weight.

I would definitely try it with hoops!

I loved the hoops because they added a little volume and held the dress away from my legs.  It made it easier to walk and I think in a way, it was cooler, because the dress wasn’t all pressed against my lower half.

I got mine in eBay for CHEAP and sold it for more then I bought it on kijiji within 24hrs of posting.

Ahh! This is the first time I’ve seen your dress.  I <3 it!!

I vote try the hoop.  It might help prevent those bulges and depressions at the bottom of the skirt.

@couawilou:  I had a mermaid style hoop skirt that probably wasn’t as full as yours.  Just make sure you get one with adjustable hoops and you can change the size.  It also helped me from having to have any hemming at all done!  The extra volume naturally shortens it.

I just had to sit at the edge of my seat with my feet slightly tucked under the chair. You can sort of see in this photo how they are tucked under.

I say go for the extra poof. That dress is gorgeous on you!!! I think a hoop or crinoline will give it a little extra oomph!

More poof all the way! Add a hoop it’ll be beautiful! I am pretty much in love with your dress already but if it was even poofier… I’d be head over heels.

I didn’t wear anything under my dress – everyone at the bridal salon and my seamstress acted like I was nuts because it’s just so ingrained in brides that is what we are supposed to do – but I was happier without anything underneath. I was much more comfortable, and I got the tulle romantic dress I wanted without the huge big poof my Darling Husband doesn’t like.

ps. You can always wear the hoop for the ceremony and photos then take it off for the reception… I do believe that’s what I’ll be doing so I can sit and dance easier… lol
