I found out that I need to wear a crinolin under my dress. It isn’t necessary, but after putting one on, I found that I was able to walk better in it (it keeps the shape of the dress and prevents it from getting in between your legs as you walk). Mine is just one that I tie around my waist (like a skirt that I wear underneath). I think petticoats and slips do the same type of thing….?

Where did you get your dress? I think most bridal stores have rentals of these items, so you could go in and try one on with your dress. They’ve got different styles and ones that are poofier than others. Your dress is quite sleek (it’s beautiful-i love it!) so you might just need a slip to prevent your dress from getting in the way while you walk. A bridal consultant would know for sure what would work best!

it depends on how poofy and what shape you are looking for with petticoats.  Your dress looks like A-line, so you can get an A-line petticoat or if you prefer trumpet or mermaid they have those too!  I think it might be hard to do a true sweetheart with your neckline as it already has a natural wave, but I would ask your alterations person! It might dip too much in the center with a sweetheart. There also might not be enough fabric near the center of the bust as a wave neckline starts its dip further out than a sweetheart.

Try to talk to the alterations department at the store you’re getting your dress from.  I didn’t think I was going to need one but my dress is so heavy it kept pushing between my legs and I was practically tripping on it.  So I ended up getting one and it made all the difference.  They would be able to help you and suggest what would be best for your dress.
