I don’t know what I want as a theme nor do I know if I need a theme. I plan on getting married in October 2012 and I don’t like the traditional fall themes that have to do with leaves, pumpkins and candies apples. As of right now my colors are dark purple, gold and ivory. Thanks in advance for the help ladeis!!

a theme doesnt necessarily have to be a theme such as “autumn” or “winter”, your colors are your theme. In your case your dark purple, gold and ivory 🙂 They are the common thread or theme throughout your wedding, since thats what will be repeated. It is perfectly ok to have a set of colors as your theme 🙂

Most themes evolve as brides pick their colors, centerpieces and other decor.
You don’t have to have a theme- you can decorate in your chosen colors and it will be lovely.

We don’t have a theme either, and it’s not needed. We are getting married in October, but we are having more spring type colors, dresses, and decor. The season doesn’t have to be incorporated at all.
