My husband and I got legally married at the court house this past May. Our actual official wedding ceremony and reception is not until July 2012. Do I need someone who is officially ordained to marry us at the ceremony? We would like a family member to lead the ceremony and if that person doesn’t need to get ordained then that would be great. Thanks again for any input.

If it’s already legal, I would see no reason for it!

I dont think that you would have to hire someone that is ordained as long as your marrige now is already legal. So your good to go!! 🙂

They don’t need to be ordained as they aren’t actually marrying you. You are already married.

If you’re legally married now, absolutely not.

If you are already legally married there is no reason to get legally married again. So no, you don’t need an officially ordained minister or anything like that to preform the ceremony. You already did that.
