I really hate chair covers – they remind me of something out of the 80s. I hate the chairs at my venue so splashing out for the gold chiavari chairs. However I don’t think your chairs are that bad. Better than hideous chair covers.

Those chairs look fine in my opinion. I’m getting covers because the chairs at my venue are the metal folding chairs but if they were those chairs I’d leave them be. Also I was able to find chair covers for 1.50 each on ebay, they were satin and good quality. I’m hoping I can sell them after the event for about the same price since most of the ones I see on Craigslist and stuff are at 2$+ each.

Those chairs look just fine, and once everyone is sitting down nobody will be able to see them anyway. Definitely go for wine! Your guests will appreciate free drinks way more than any decor.

Guests wont get wrapped up in what your chairs looks like, trust me it wont even be a thought to the, They are going to be much more wrapped in having fun and celebrating your wedding with you! In my opinion i would definitely spend the money on wine =) Good Luck bee!

Those saying that no one will notice the chairs is a flat out lie. People will notice that they are seated on a plastic patio chair, besides they get uncomfortable. I would not get chair covers, I would rent chairs. I know you’re saying that they are expensive, but there are very affordable chairs that run between $2 – $3 per chair – less than $1500. In my opinon, weddings cost a lot, don’t ruin it by cutting corners on something like this – budget somewhere else.

These chairs look perfectly fine on their own. They are a neutral color with a good silhouette so I would allot that cash somewhere else!

coquelicot : I would be worried more about the safety and comfortability of plastic chairs. They’re easy for kids tip back in. Dangerous for elderly people with mobility and balance issues. Possibly not substantial enough for guests with larger body types. And uncomfortable as hell.
Renting nicer chairs would be a priority for me from a practicality standpoint. Aesthetics wouldn’t be the priority.

My vote is, and always will be, wine!
But seriously, the chairs look fine to me! I’d leave them as is.

I like the chairs! I also don’t really take notice of chairs when I go to a wedding, so I think the money could definitely be used on wine
