On the Save the Dates, we referred everyone to our website which obviously contains the hotel information. Do we need to include an additional piece in our invitations? I’d really rather not as we didn’t put cards together to match the invitations and I feel like it will take away from the classiness of the invites. The older people invited will be family so they will know who to contact. I really believe people our age know how to find that information. My parent’s friends are pretty tech savy.
What do you think?

If it’s at the hotel have the name on there but that’s it. Make sure the website is clear and your set in my mind. The only one who messed up the hotel reservations so far was my dad since he didn’t book within the block. It’s all works out pretty well.

@Mars62312: Personally I would prefer the insert, but if your website is listed on the invitation somewhere I could figure it out without it.

@asscherlover: I didn’t include the website on the invitations. They’re very formal, which is causing me hesitation. Really wish we had thought about hotel stuff at the time.

I think you need one of those in there. What about something really simple like a black and white business card with the website and that’s it. If you sent out step with the website your fine then too.

I voted no on the accomodation card, but then I read that you don’t have the website on the invitations either. I would really try to include the website somewhere. Most people probably won’t remember from an STD they got months ago.

If you do include it, make sure the ink on the paper is faced away from your invites so it doesn’t rub and get blackish ink on the invite (happened to an invite I got recently).

A few more votes maybe? As of now, I thinking about just including it for out of town guests.

Not everyone will check your wedding web site, I can tell you first hand (we’ve gotten questions from our friends about our hotel block, which is on our web site, which was listed on the save the dates). Local guests may also want a hotel room if they’re going to be drinking, so you really should have an insert with that info for everyone.

I put the website on the invites, too. Not everyone actually saves the Save the Date. Or you might do an insert card for OOTs.

We have formal invitations and we elected to print this on the bottom of one of our inserts:
Please visit our website http://www.minimae.com
This way, we can share more information with our guests without sacrificing the streamlined, uncluttered, classy look and feel of the invitations.
Guests can always refer to our website for our venue info (maps/directions), hotel accommodations, recommended sights and activities while in the area, weather network, dress code, gift registry, etc.

@Mars62312: I wouldn’t assume people still have the STDs. I know Future Mother-In-Law mailed one to us because she thought we would find it interesting. I know she marked the date on her calendar, but I don’t know if she wrote down the website. I think some guests might write down the date and then throw it out (which makes me sad to think about because I plan on putting a lot of time into mine).

Include the web site and for your less tech-savvy friends, the hotel info.
