I know it’s a silly question, but how many of us have really ever done this stuff before? LOL I am wondering do I need my shoes, slip etc if all I need done to my dress is the bustle? I’m having a french bustle done and I don’t even need a hem (huge crinoline and hot heels ) I’m having some issues with my crinoline at the moment and the big day is 6 weeks away I need to get it in for the bustle ASAP. Someone guide me please!

Maybe you could call and ask the seamstress? I needed all that stuff when I had my bustle done, but I had a single point bustle (can’t remember the name…). The seamstress pinned the dress in specific places so the fabric would lay in the most flattering position when it was bustled.

I have to leave early tmw before they open and if I need the slip and have to wait then I’d rather not drag my dress around town all day, ya know? I was hoping someone who has been might know…Thanks for your input. Wish you had a french bustle and I would have a better idea. I’m having such a bad day!

I had to put on my dress for my seamstress to do some alterations at the shoulders but she said she didn’t need to pin it or anything while I was in it because it didn’t need a hem- she could do the bustle by just putting it on a mannequin.

i think you need to have it on so that the seamstress knows where to position the bustle on you and so that it lies properly.
i had a french bustle and she needed to know where to pin it up.

I’d bring it all so they know that is the correct length to pin the bustle to.

I had to wear my dress & my shoes. They need to know where exactly to place the bustle.
