I’m hearing so much about wedding colors…but am wondering why I need them? I am not having a bridal party, and my ceremony is outside. The reception is in a barn, and I figured I would just pick flower colors with the florist. Do I need colors for anything else? I am so not crafty or artistic so I’m lost here! Thanks bees!

My ceremony & reception is also outside and my color is white, it will look awesome amongst the grass & trees and not to metion its cheaper, the venue provides our table linens (which are white) and the napkins are white and so on, so no need to pay for colored linens. IMO when you have an outside wedding alot of colors arn’t necessary unless you have a favorite that you want to add here and there. But your right usually a brides colors play a roll in the flowers, Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, accessories, Grooms ties, table/ chair covers, napkins, and decor. If you have a favorite color use it where you want, if not well you know I’m partial to white 🙂

I agree with the previous reply, you don’t need to pick colors unless you want to. White or other neutrals would look great.

white and ivory can be mixed with gold and silver! I saw this done and it was amazing..different neutral tons and metals!

I think having wedding colors just helps you to visualize your wedding a bit better. I’m not a huge fan of colors and coordinating or anything, but having an idea of what I wanted helps me to decide on things as I am planning – for instance, I am buying more candles than are necessary and knowing that I am having a black and white wedding eliminates the need for ivory candles, so I can make my decisions much more easily.
I hope that makes sense!

You definitely don’t *have* to do anything! I found it was easier in all areas of planning to have a theme/color scheme that I worked with. I do have BM’s, but even if I didn’t, my theme helped me select invites, flower types, favors, table linens, cake design, etc. So it depends on you! If you want all of those things to coordinate color-wise, then of course it helps to have particular colors picked out. If you’re just looking for a cohesive look you can pick a style you like and find things that fit it, without stressibg about exactly what shade of some obscure color you’re dealing with. 🙂

in weddings i don’t think there’s anything you "have" to do…other than say i do!! 🙂
i’m using yellow in my wedding (because my ring is a yellow sapphire & i just love yellow!) but there’s definitely not "colors" or a "theme" or any of that. while i’ve definitely seem some amazing color/theme weddings on here, it’s just not for me.
i think your wedding sounds lovely & you should do whatever you want.
