- Wedding: December 2010
Ladies, 19 days to go (holycowholycowholycow!) and I need some advice.
My wedding dress just got altered and throughout the whole thing there was one thing that kept bugging me. It’s a slight mermaid with a low back, but the back of the bodice does not sit against my spine. It kind of sticks out so that there is no curve, just a long sloping line from the middle of my back to my butt. With it being fitted and having a small waist, I’d really like it to hug my upper body and not make my normally curvy frame look shapeless from the side. The seamstress didn’t want to put darts in the back of the dress (which would bring it in to the spine) because it is a gorgeous lace, but… it’s going to bother the hell out of me! The dress is an Allure, so it has the built in corset – it’s thick, so we thought that was the problem, but she’s taken that part in so that it fits my form and the dress still doesn’t curve with me. I say put the darts in, but she’s resistant. Which would you prefer – a smooth, unaltered look or something that fit better?
